FOSS Outreach talk – Let's Talk: The Importance of Being a Dad

About the Evening

We’re pleased to invite you to a special evening talk focused on the men and fathers in our school community:

Let's Talk: Importance of Being a Dad

This session is designed specifically for dads and male carers and will explore fatherhood, mental health and emotional presence. The evening will look at how fathers influence children, families, schools and wider society, and will introduce the Presence Over Presents campaign — highlighting the importance of time, attention and emotional availability over material provision.

We feel this works best as a male-only space, helping to create an environment where men feel comfortable speaking openly about pressure, mental health and their experiences of fatherhood. From experience, this leads to more honest and meaningful conversation. A small group of dads will also help host the evening, which we feel is a great fit for the tone of the event.

As always, this is a free talk, open to all dads and male carers in our community.
